Klaipeda
Klaipeda is Lithuania‘s only gateway to the sea, and the most notherly ice-free port on the eastern coast of the Baltic Sea.
As the city is a sea transport centre, where regular shipping lines and fast modern motorway routes merge together, it is becoming increasingly important. Already for centuries Klaipeda cherishes fine marine traditions, therefore the Maritime Museum, the Aquarium and Dolphinarium were founded. Also the unique Museum of Clocks, the Museum of Blacksmith‘s Work and the Klaipeda Park of Contemporary Sculpture are of great interest.
